Wanna Laugh?

"Promises are like babies: easy to make, hard to deliver." ~Author Unknown

I saw this quote and it made me giggle - I hope you can have a laugh too!

Cousins - Preston, Wesley and Tanner

What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories. ~George Eliot

These 3 little guys have a lifetime of memories ahead of them.

Preston loves to hold and kiss Tanner. Preston is ready to lead the Hansen grandkid pack with his cute bossy personality.

Cute Preston story - I was getting Wesley out of the car and Preston got out of his carseat, got out of the car and I suddenly hear a little voice behind me, "Mom - is there anything I can take in for you?" It was a precious moment! He loves being a big helper.

South 47 Farm Corn Maze

Corn Maze Trivia: What phobia do you suffer from if you have an intense fear of Halloween? Samhainophobia refers to an abnormal and persistent fear of Halloween. This time of year may also stir up other phobias such as the fear of: cats (ailurophobia), witches (wiccaphobia), ghosts (phasmophobia), spiders (arachnophobia), the dark (nyctophobia), and cemetaries (coimetrophobia).

For playgroup we planned a field trip to the South 47 Farm Corn Maze - it was the year of the Tractor! Little did I realize that the maze was a little over a mile long!

It was a fun adventure and very muddy! There was Halloween trivia all over the maze (hence the trivia above).
Thanks to the two friends Carlen and Samantha who joined us there and took fabulous pictures! (and got muddy with us!)
Preston had to be in front and lead the way - which was nice because he could quickly find the dead ends.

Grandma Hollie - does this picture make you want to go? (Preston's grandma loves wearing muckin boots and getting dirty)

After the corn maze Preston had to go to preschool but he was wet and muddy from head to toe. So thankfully Tom met us with some new clothes ;)
I am proposing to the Matthews/Hansen/Werry Family - this should be a new tradition!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Tim

What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life. And, most importantly, cookies. ~Rudolph Giuliani

We drove 2 hours up to Bellingham to surprise Grandpa Tim with a big Happy Birthday! He was so excited and showed his little grandsons off at work and then we took him out for a wonderful birthday dinner. Then went back to the "Beaver House" to spend the evening with him. We took a beautiful walk around Lake Louise the next morning taking in some refreshing Northwest air!

He is such a wonderful man and we are so very lucky to have him in our life! Happy Birthday!

Celebrate the Success in your Life!

"Success: To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!" ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

My success tonight - House cleaned, toys picked up, 2 boys teeth brushed, 2 boys with pajamas on, 2 boys happily ready for bed. The best news - it was 8pm! Good night tonight!

These Boots Are Made For Riding

“Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

And unfortunately this grand passion takes a lot of time and money which has required me to put this "hobby" on hold in my life to enjoy being a mom.

So it is with a little sadness that I sold my boots on Ebay as well as other stuff.

When the time is right, one day I will pick up my grand passion again.

So long boots

Don't feel too sorry for me - because of pregnancy my boot size went up a full size so they didn't fit me anyway (well, this was the reason I told myself it was okay to sell them).!

Pumpkin Patch 2008

When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers,‘tis near Halloween.~Author Unknown

Serres Farm - tractor, corn maze, Tom and Branden being dissastified at not finding a HUGE pumpkin, Tom scaring some friends of ours (sorry LH!), 6 pumpkins for $17 (yeah!) & a beautiful blue Seattle sky in October (however, best news of the day - Texas beat Oklahoma so Branden was proud to be wearing his orange!)

Random Pictures Of Wesley

“A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.” - Anonymous

The last 4 nights Wesley slept midnight to 8am straight! Thank you Wesley - it means a lot to your mom :) He is also eating a TON of food every day - growing like crazy!! No one can make him laugh so hard as Preston - Wesley thinks he is the funniest person on the earth (and I tend to agree too) The other day Wesley was laughing so hard at Preston playing with the Tape Measurer that he could hardly breathe. We love his cute giggle!

Fathers and Sons

"My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys." Harmon Killebrew.

The fun fort Tom and Preston made while I was out running errands:

Thanks for being so involved in our boys life, Tom! We love you.
