Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - YW Camp

Now that I have finally caught up on sleep from going to YW Camp last week, I'm now working on getting caught up on everything else in my life.

But first I must say that I had a blast at YW Camp. More fun than I probably should have because I came home absolutely exhausted. I learned so much about being a good YW leader and also had several very spirital experiences that happened too.

I was over all the 5th & 6th years (there were 55!) and everyday I went and visited with them to make sure everything was going smooth in their units and teaching certification. They are some amazing girls and I was impressed with their leadership qualities.

My two favorite girls wrote me the cutest poem at camp:

I got several adorable letters from the girls at camp - they are keepers. Another one of my favorites was from my sister Hannah. She is getting so grown up.

Some other stuff I did: go on the rope swing, sing camp songs REALLY loud, explain everyday that I was 29 not 19, eat lots of camp food, stayed up way to late, and other stuff. The name the Stake YW Presidency gave me (our theme was CLUE) was Commander Orange Crush - so I got to wear really cool orange stuff all week like bright orange socks. The camp theme was L.I.F.E. - Living in Faith Everyday and every unit was a board game. It was an awesome experience and I'm so glad I went.

Tom, Heidi and my mom did an AMAZING job with the boys. They had a wonderful week full of soccer, going to the zoo, concerts in the park, eating out, etc. It all went so smoothly. I cried on Friday because I missed them and then on Saturday I cried when I got home. They were both great (but they did wear everyone out :)).

Here is a picture of when Tom, Tim, Heidi and Preston went to the Mariners game. They had front row seats:

They also went to the zoo without me :( - this picture would never be taken if I was there though. I hate snakes:

This week I took Preston to the dentist (no sugar bugs (cavities!)), cleaned the house, took the Honda in, tried getting Preston's haircut 2 times (Lu wasn't there), and watched my favorite movie: Pride and Prejudice. Tom is at Scout Camp until tonight so I have been enjoying the time with my boys this week. Hopefully August will not be as CRAZY!

Sunday, July 27, 2008 - Hannah and Preston

Hannah and Preston were being so silly with the camera on Sunday - I just had to post these silly pictures. As you can see Preston need a haircut. Hannah is so beautiful! There were several people at camp who did not believe we were sisters....

Our family is just always having a blast together!

July 17, 2008 - Seattle Summer Pictures

I love summer evenings in Seattle - they are the absolute best. We have been having fun in the sun a lot this summer. Preston is at that age where sitting inside on a sunny day drives him crazy so we load up and head to Grandma Hollie's. Here are some summer pictures of us:

Tom and Wesley hanging out with Tom's new ladies sunglasses (at least that is what I think they look like):

Wesley chewing on his hands because he is still teething. He is a little tan baby this year spending time in the sun:

Preston helping Heidi to blow up a floaty. This is Preston's beach outfit this year. I forgot that I bought black shorts and not blue so he doesn't match so well this year.

You should have seen the expression on Preston's face when I asked him if he wanted to play with the hose.

I hope everyone else is enjoying the beautiful sunshine! It's going to end all too soon.

July 17, 2008 - Videos of Preston and Wesley

I'm playing a little catch up on my blog tonight! I've been busy preparing for YW Camp next week. I'll be praying all goes well on the homefront while I'm gone. I'm going to really miss my 3 boys... life is good right now and the boys are easy (knock on wood!).

Here are 2 funny videos that just give you a glimpse into my life everyday. The Matthews' home is full of laughter:

June 23, 2008 (Preston is wearing his favorite Superman Pjs. We saw a blue and red motorcycle the other day and Preston said, "Look mom, it's a superman motorcycle")

July 17, 2008 (tonight):

Preston has been going to Kids Camp this week from 9am-noon everyday and totally loving it. It's run by 3 YW in our ward as a way to make some summer money.

It's been great because I've been able to get so much done for camp next week. Tom asked me if it makes me want Preston to go to school and my reply was - not yet, I'm still enjoying him being at home. By noon I'm ready for him to come home and be with Wesley and I. He just bring so much fun and laughter to our home!

July 16, 2008 - Wesley's Gone Bananas and Loving It!

Here is a Video of Wesley eating Bananas for the first time. Just like Preston - they are his favorite.

June 19, 2008:

Now he is eating all sorts of fruits and exploring the wonderful world of popcicles! He is such a summer baby!

He is such a beautiful/sweet baby STILL!! (Even though he kind of has his middle finger raised in the picture on the right). He is shuffling around and getting ready to crawl.

July 14, 2008 - Happy 29th Birthday to ME!

I know it's a little late, but I have to blog about my wonderful birthday I had this year - dinner with my family, cake with my favorite friends, beautiful sunset on a Seattle summer night, my picture perfect birthday!

One more year until I'm 30 - I'm so excited to for my 30's to come. My 20's have been such a humbling and growing time, I'm ready to move on :) (and the fact that I look 15 makes me want to turn 30 too).

July 10, 2008 - Preston Soccer Lil' Kickers

This summer I signed Preston up to take a soccer class once a week. The only reason I did it was because they play no games (it's not competitive at all, more for developmental). I had a friend suggest it to me so Preston goes with a friend from church. Preston really looks forward to it. He tries to be "Coach Sarah's" favorite by sitting in her lap while they are sitting in a circle, telling her Thank You when he is done and getting water with her. He is such a smoozer!

The first class he was really shy and silly about it and wanted me to do all the games with him but now he has warmed up and runs over to the field as soon as he gets out of the car. He also got a cool jersey.
